I think power is indirectly part of it, because coercion and things tend to be about feeling entitled to sex. I mean, inherently there’s a power struggle in any kind of crime between the attacker and the victim.
“But isn’t someone taking something you don’t want to give them ultimately about power?” - I think there’s really something to this. Entitlement is a sense of power, and this sounds like that to me.
I wasn’t really thinking about entitlement. I think you guys are correct in bringing that up. I hope anon is reading these responses.
